The Contract Maintenance module enables the basic details of all outwards contracts to be maintained. The details for a contract comprise its reference, a description, method of placing and percentage placed. They also identify the placement with brokers and reinsurers. For excess of loss contracts, it enables the additional details to be maintained, such as period covered, limits, slip rates, clauses and reinstatement terms. It also enables deposit, additional and adjustment premiums to be entered. Contracts may be expressed in up to four accounting currencies. Typically, in the London Market, they will comprise UK Sterling, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars and Euros. In addition, contracts may be expressed in any convertible currency. For proportional contracts, the additional details include frequency of account, clean-cut or run-off basis, and override commissions. Proportional contracts may be expressed in up to four accounting currencies. The module includes facilities to maintain reference tables that are required for contract maintenance, or are common to more than one module, such as brokers, reinsurers, and currency exchange rates. |
