The GLOBAL MGA Product Suite has been designed to revolutionise the way products are designed and taken to market, as well as the user experience and cost of processing of MGA systems. Some of the tools and concepts we use are introduced below.
Rich Internet Applications (RIA)
Although there is some controversy over definitions, broadly, Rich Internet Applications provide the capability of desktop applications through the Internet. Although they are not necessarily appropriate for every audience, they can radically improve the usability, effectiveness and experience of the system. Total Objects have architected the web-based customer / user interface, GLOBAL XII, so that you can take full advantage of these tools.
Workflow / Task Management
For mass-market products we believe that almost all processing should be handled by the system, Straight-Through-Processing (STP), resulting in incredibly low cost per quote / policy – as little as 4p per policy. However, there are processes where human intervention is required – underwriting referrals and claims amongst them. Workflow provides management, control and reporting over processes, utilised either through tactical implementations or through our Xccelerator solution.
Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
The importance of effective management of the customer relationship is paramount, as it drives sales, customer satisfaction and overall profitability. The GLOBAL MGA Product Suite has been designed to integrate seamlessly with market leading CRM solutions such as Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce.com as well, providing a strong call centre capability.
Prototyping – iRise
We use prototyping in two, connected, ways. Firstly, we can design the overall customer experience with the client, and provide a rapid, realistic view of the end-solution. This ensures that what is delivered is exactly what is required and significantly reduces the development time. Using this prototype as a base, we can then use the same tool to model new insurance products – which can cut the time taken to develop products improving speed to market.
Product Repository – SharePoint
When provided with the flexible tools for product development and refinement within the GLOBAL MGA Product Suite, management are able to change products quickly according to market conditions. To support the audit trail of non-system documentation, and to tie everything together, Total Objects has designed a Product Repository using Microsoft SharePoint, the leading document management solution.
Auto-Underwriting and Decisioning
Total Objects have proprietary rating engines, but are partners of Polaris, which support insurance industry standards. We have learnt lessons from other industries on how to utilise decision engines in the customer, product and experience realms, which we believe makes us unique in the insurance market.
